LUMIERE RESEARCH INCLUSION FOUNDATION
Lumiere Education has launched a 501(c)(3) non-profit, the Lumiere Research Inclusion Foundation, that provides high-quality research opportunities to talented, low-income students at no cost.
What We Do
We pair talented, low-income high-school students with world-class PhD mentors to work 1-on-1 on an independent research project. At the end of the 12-week program, they learn about the cutting edge of their field and develop an independent research paper.
Our Story
With Lumiere, we started from day one with a financial aid program. However, after a few years, we felt that we could be doing more. That’s why we decided to spin out the financial aid program officially and build it into its own non-profit. Our goal is to have over 1000 students from under-represented backgrounds do research with us over the next four years.
Our Mission
Our goal with the Foundation is to build the next generation of diverse researchers. We believe that the world’s best researchers are out there - and they are often not the people who have the resources to pay for it. We want to make sure that world-class research opportunities are not hidden in Ivory towers but shared with the world’s best students, irrespective of their backgrounds.
