If you’re a college student who wants to see what working in the sports industry is really like, consider enrolling in a summer internship.Â
Sports internships place you inside the daily work of teams, media outlets, athletic programs, or sports companies, where you learn how things actually run beyond what you see on the field or screen. You might track player data, assist with event logistics, help produce sports content, or support community outreach programs.
Doing a summer internship also helps you figure out which part of the industry fits your goals. You could realize you prefer the business side, like marketing or management, or the media and reporting side. Along the way, you build professional habits and connections that will help you later when applying for full-time positions.
To help you explore the options, here are 15 sports summer internships for college students!Â
(Note: Some of these internship links may expire once the hiring cycle closes, but the same programs often reopen the following year, so it’s worth checking back if a listing isn’t currently live)
