The Ladder University Internship Program places you in an eight-week remote internship with an early-stage startup or nonprofit working on a real business or research need. You select a project area aligned with your academic interests, which may include film and entertainment, marketing, production, or other media-adjacent roles, depending on availability. You will typically commit 10–15 hours per week while working closely with a startup manager and a dedicated Ladder Coach. Throughout the internship, you will receive structured feedback and professional guidance during regular check-ins. At the end of the program, you will present your completed work to company leadership.

Depending on your role, you may help with research to ensure the accuracy and integrity of non-fiction television and video content, assist film production units, contribute to studio marketing efforts, or support the business/IT/accounting divisions. You may get to assist with fact-checking documentaries at multiple stages of development and post-production. NorCal Public Media Internships are designed to help students explore careers in media and journalism. As a video production intern, you will conduct research to collect background information for documentaries and short-form videos for TV and websites. You will also assist in writing interview questions, engaging in brainstorming sessions, setting up interviews, scheduling videotaping sessions, and scouting locations. Additionally, you will use Adobe Premiere to organize editing projects, add metadata to files, transcribe interviews, and categorize interview content. The Assembly Atlanta Summer Film Internship provides hands-on exposure to studio operations within a small cohort. As an intern, you will shadow staff members while participating in script reading, analysis, and internal discussions. You will also collaborate on developing a short film produced during the program. The internship can offer insights into film production and film festival submission. The role requires approximately 15 hours per week and limits participation to five candidates.

Lumiere is a selective research program where students work 1-1 with a research mentor to develop an independent research paper.
