8 Free Online Law Courses for High School Students

If you’re a high school student considering a career in law, it’s a good idea to start learning about the field before you reach college. If you're looking for a flexible format that isn't too logistically demanding, consider a free online course in the field.


Platforms like Coursera and EdX are solid aggregators of some of the best online courses that are accessible to high schoolers, and most of these courses are free! Taking an online course can help signal your commitment to the subject to college admissions officers, which is especially important in a competitive field like law. You should note that simply doing courses in law won't be enough to get into law school, but will help you build a base in law outside of the classroom.


In this blog, we’ll cover 8 free online law courses for high school students. These courses are either completely free of charge or fully funded.

Khan Academy’s U.S. Constitution 101 course is an introduction to the foundational document of American law. Also check out the Lumiere Research Inclusion Foundation, a non-profit research program for talented, low-income students. Last year, we had 150 students on full need-based financial aid!
