Ladder Internships provide students with an opportunity to work with fast-growing startups and innovative companies across various fields. As a Ladder Intern, you will be matched with a manager at the firm and work on a project with direct business impact, all the while receiving mentorship and guidance from them. You can indicate your preference for business law internships. During the program, you will work on various deliverables, developing technical as well as soft skills. You will also have access to the guidance of Ladder Coach, who will act as your second mentor throughout the internship. 


Location: D&B office in Jacksonville, FL, or Austin, TX

The Dun & Bradstreet Summer Internship Program provides college students with an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a corporate business environment. As an intern, you may work on projects across different business functions, contribute to data analysis and market research, and support teams in operational or compliance-related tasks. You will also participate in mentorship and training sessions, which will allow you to enhance both technical and professional skills. Opportunities are available in various departments, including legal units, looking for assistance with document preparation and contract assistance.

ACLU offers various law internships to students. While the ACLU primarily focuses on civil liberties and civil rights, several projects intersect with business law, including employment law, corporate accountability, data privacy, and labor rights. As an intern, you will contribute to projects that advance the ACLU’s litigation, advocacy, and communications efforts. Depending on your placement, your responsibilities may include legal research, policy analysis, drafting public education materials, and assisting with case development. Beyond the day-to-day work, the program offers you a front-row seat to landmark legal battles and advocacy campaigns shaping civil liberties in the U.S., while also helping you build practical skills, expand your professional network, and gain insight into public interest law and policy.

The UBS Summer Internship in the Group Compliance, Regulatory & Governance unit offers students exposure to financial compliance and risk management. As an intern, you will contribute to regional and global projects, assist in evaluating processes and controls to ensure UBS’s adherence to laws and regulations, and conduct research on emerging regulatory changes. The role also offers exposure to compliance, risk assessment, and governance frameworks. You will spend 10 weeks collaborating with experienced professionals across teams and gaining insights into the inner workings of a leading global financial institution. This can be an opportunity to build analytical thinking, communication, and project management skills.

Dominium’s Development Internships provide college students with an opportunity to gain experience in corporate work environments, particularly in real estate development. As an intern, you will assist with market and acquisition analyses, review investment agreements, support project planning, and contribute to construction administration for new construction, rehabilitation, or historic redevelopment projects. You will gain insight into the complexities of real estate transactions, including the legal, financial, and regulatory considerations involved. The Department of Justice’s USTP offers legal and non-legal internships to students interested in exploring business and corporate law. Both internship opportunities offer insights into bankruptcy law, policymaking, administrative law, and legislative matters. As an intern, you will take on various tasks to provide legal, financial, and/or administrative support to USTP. If you are a pre-law student, you can choose paralegal roles to gain insights into corporate bankruptcy.


Location: Ally Financial office, Detroit, MI

Eligibility: Rising juniors and seniors enrolled in undergraduate accounting, business administration, or economics programs 

 

This internship is an opportunity to explore tax laws and accounting regulations as well as corporate compliance. As an intern at Ally, you will work alongside experienced legal professionals on projects involving corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory matters. You may assist in drafting legal documents, participate in meetings, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand the intersection of law and business operations. You will also take on tasks involving financial reporting, assessing the impact of tax laws, and preparing reports to be filed with the SEC.


Location: Multiple Fidelity sites across the U.S., commonly in Boston, MA

Fidelity’s Summer Associate Program offers finance internships for undergraduates across areas like finance, audit, risk, compliance, and actuary. As an intern, you will explore various sub-departments and undergo training in your broader specialization. You will work alongside current associates and analysts to complete tasks in quantitative financial analysis, client and industry research, managing data interpretation and visualization, and preparing presentations and reports for other internal teams. The experience can offer you insights into corporate compliance and tax laws. As a Summer Associate, you will have access to professional development opportunities, including near-peer mentorship, networking events, and skill-building sessions. You may be considered for an offer to return as an intern the following summer or a job post graduation.

This internship provides students with exposure to securities and business law in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). You will engage in legal research, analyze corporate filings, support litigation and enforcement cases, and draft memoranda, reports, and other critical legal documents. Beyond these responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to attend meetings with SEC staff, participate in specialized training sessions, and gain firsthand insight into the regulatory frameworks that govern U.S. financial markets. This program offers a unique perspective on how federal regulators enforce securities laws, oversee financial institutions, and maintain market integrity.

Internships at RubinBrown offer students pursuing degrees in accounting or finance hands-on experience in public accounting and navigating the tax law landscape. You will work on client engagements, assist with financial reporting, participate in tax and audit projects, and collaborate with professionals across various service lines. You will help the organization ensure tax compliance. You will also attend training sessions, mentorship programs, and team-building activities to develop a deeper understanding of accounting practices and firm operations.

Chapman and Cutler LLP offers two summer internship programs to college students who want to gain experience in finance law or law firm administration before committing to a law program. You can choose between the Law Firm Administrative Intern Program and the Finance Law Development Program. The internships begin with orientation sessions covering finance and legal concepts specific to the role you will take on. Following these sessions, you will work on legal projects that support the firm, exploring real-world corporate compliance, business law, and financial compliance. The experience can also help you build professional skills like collaboration, communication, and problem-solving.


One other option—Lumiere Research Scholar Program

If you want to pursue independent research under the guidance of a mentor, consider applying to Lumiere Research Scholar Programs, which are selective programs founded in partnership with Harvard and Oxford researchers. In the past, 4,000+ students applied for just 500 spots in the research program. You can learn about the application and available programs on the application form here.


Also, you can check out the Lumiere Research Inclusion Foundation—a non-profit research program for talented low-income students. Last year, it offered 150 students full need-based financial assistance.
