Engineering internships give high school students an opportunity to explore design, technology, and problem-solving. By participating in these internships, you can gain experience in areas like mechanical, electrical, or software engineering, allowing you to see how concepts learned in the classroom apply to projects. An engineering internship can help you build practical skills and understand the various career paths within this field.
Exposure to engineering through internships also adds depth to your college applications. College admissions committees value students who pursue opportunities that align with their career interests. Demonstrating experience in a professional engineering setting highlights your commitment to the field, your ability to tackle complex challenges, and your readiness for advanced academic work.
To help you get started, here’s a list of 7 engineering internships for high school students in NYC!
